Size guide
All our shoes are UK sizes, which is the same system South African sizing follows. If you know your SA size, order it. If you shop in EU or US sizes, the tables below convert.

Unisex & wool boot sizes
Unisex styles and wool boots are stocked UK 4 to 12, which spans both ranges, so the US column is split.

Kids’ sizes
Kids’ sizes run UK 8 to UK 13, then restart at UK 1 and 2. That jump is normal: UK 13 is followed by UK 1, which is the larger size.

| 8 | 25-26 | 15.4 cm |
| 9 | 27 | 16.2 cm |

| 1 | 33 | 19.9 cm |
| 2 | 34 | 20.7 cm |
How to measure your foot
Foot length is more reliable than the size on your current shoes, because last shape varies between makers. Measure late in the day, when your feet are at their largest.
- Put a sheet of paper on a hard floor against a wall, and stand on it with your heel touching the wall.
- Mark the paper at the tip of your longest toe, which is not always the big toe.
- Measure from the wall edge of the paper to the mark, in centimetres.
- Do both feet and use the larger measurement. Most people have one foot slightly bigger.
Match that measurement to the Foot length column above. The lengths are approximate, so treat them as a starting point rather than a guarantee.
If you are between sizes
Take the larger size. Our uppers are unlined full-grain leather, which stretches and moulds to the shape of your foot over about a week of wear. A snug new pair becomes a good fit. A loose pair stays loose, because the leather has nothing to mould around.
The exception is a Chelsea boot. The leather moulds but the elastic gussets keep their tension, so buy for a snug fit across the instep rather than sizing up for comfort.
Socks, or no socks
Traditionally vellies are worn barefoot, which is why the leather is unlined and soft against the skin. If you plan to wear thick socks through winter, consider the larger size. For thin socks or bare feet, your normal size is right.
If you get it wrong
Swapping sizes deducts nothing and we would rather you got the fit right than kept a pair that does not work. You have 30 days from delivery, as long as the pair is unworn outdoors. Full detail on returns and exchanges, and more answers in the FAQ.
